Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before making a smart decision
What type of maintenance do solar systems require? ▼
Photovoltaic solar systems require minimal maintenance. We recommend semi-annual cleaning of the panels to prevent dust or debris buildup that can reduce efficiency. Additionally, we perform annual inspections to check the condition of the inverter, connections, structure, and other components, ensuring optimal performance and system safety.
How much can I save with solar energy? ▼
Savings depend on your current energy consumption, location, and type of installation. However, our clients typically reduce their electricity bills by 80% to 100%. In many cases, the investment is recovered within 3 to 5 years, ensuring savings for the next 20 years—the estimated useful life of photovoltaic modules. Plus, you protect your budget against constant electricity rate increases.
What legal and financial benefits do I get? ▼
In Colombia, installing solar systems gives you access to incentives such as: deduction of up to 50% of the investment value on income tax over 5 years, VAT exemption on system components, accelerated depreciation of assets, and priority in environmental procedures. You can also generate income by selling surplus energy to the grid (Net Metering).
Does the solar system work when it’s cloudy or at night? ▼
Yes. Although efficiency decreases on cloudy days, panels still generate energy thanks to diffused radiation. To ensure continuous supply, you can install a hybrid system with batteries or grid connection (interconnected system), which provides energy even at night or in variable climates.
What is the lifespan of solar panels? ▼
Solar panels have an estimated lifespan of 25 to 30 years. Inverters last between 10 and 15 years. We use TIER 1 certified equipment that maintains high efficiency for decades. In addition, all our systems come with warranty and technical support.
Can I monitor my solar system in real time? ▼
Yes. All our systems include online monitoring from your cellphone or computer. You can see in real time how much you’re generating, how much you’re consuming, and your accumulated savings—giving you full control of your energy through a PV Solar System (SSFV).
What happens if I move or sell my house? ▼
The system can increase the commercial value of your property. If you decide to move, you can negotiate the system as part of the sale value or consult us for options to transfer it to your new home.
How long does the full installation take? ▼
Between 5 and 20 business days for residential systems. For commercial or industrial systems, the time varies depending on the capacity to be installed. This includes legalization, registration procedures with UPME, installation, monitoring, and maintenance of the PV Solar System.
